Amazon Australia has kicked off a nationwide hiring spree and is looking to employ hundreds of seasonal workers ahead of the holiday season. Jobs are available across all Australian fulfilment centres and logistics sites, with pay starting at $32.64 per hour.
The online retail giant announced it is looking for 1,800 seasonal workers to help pick, pack and ship customer orders. Hundreds of roles are now open in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle, the Gold Coast, Gosford and Geelong.
Amazon Australia senior HR manager Michelle Theophilou said the roles could suit uni students, retirees, or anyone in between.
There is no previous experience required as we provide on-the-job training, so we are just looking for enthusiastic people to sign up for a seasonal role, Theophilou said.
These roles are a great way to gain experience, learn new skills and even kick-start a long-term career at Amazon.
Major companies have started announcing their Christmas hiring drives, with Australia Post also on the lookout for 3,500 seasonal workers.

Seasonal van drivers, forklift operators, and mail and parcel sorters 21 years or older will be paid a base rate of $34.45 per hour, plus 12 per cent superannuation.
It comes as nearly 950,000 Aussies work more than one job, working out to around 6.4 per cent of all employed people.
The unemployment rate fell to 4.2 per cent in July, with employment increasing by nearly 25,000 people, driven by 60,000 full-time jobs.
