As a Product Engineer you're perfectly positioned to act as the primary interface between our sales, engineering and operations teams, both locally as well as overseas. You'll be involved in supporting small to medium sized programs and projects for new, existing or superseded products based on market requirements. As your knowledge of our products and our business grows, you'll also be involved in gathering market data & requirements to inform product strategies.
Key to this role will be your ability to manage projects through their entire lifecycle - from conception to market release ensuring all i's are dotted and t's crossed. Also critical will be your ability to communicate frequently with relevant functional stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
Responsibilities
Be a key link and work closely with our Sales, Engineering & Operations groups, both locally & overseas,
Liaise with Sales Managers, both locally and overseas, to gather market data and market requirements to inform product strategies,
Develop & then execute on project plans and key project deliverables,
Support Sales Managers with questions or concerns from the field as required,
Liaise with US marketing department to determine applicable marketing materials and make appropriate to local product range and market e.g. product brochures, flyers etc.,
Co-ordinate and contribute to local editorials for marketing publications relating to Truck or Trailer product
Develop and administer the company’s pricing policy, including the issuing of Price Books.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognised by the Institution of Engineers Australia,
Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills,
Strong organizational and time management skills,
The ability to explain sometimes complex technical issues in a clear manner to a variety of audiences,
Attention to detail – accuracy and precision.
This role would suit a graduate with a couple of years project management experience who wants to use their technical & engineering knowledge to influence and inform product & market decisions in the commercial arena.
Ideally candidates will have an interest or passion for the heavy vehicle industry and/or vehicle dynamics.
