The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a part-time Finance Officer to join our South Australian -owned business located in Beverley, South Australia.
We are seeking a friendly and reliable Finance Officer, with bookkeeping or accounting experience, to assist with the day-to-day financial operations of the business and various payroll and administration tasks when required.
The working hours for this role are very flexible and can be tailored to suit the right candidate, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase to full time over time.
What you will be doing:
Ensuring the day-to-day processing of the accounts is accurate and timely. This may range from processing bank reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Tax correspondence and lodgments, monthly progress claims, etc. to reviewing the work of administrative staff.
Preparing end of month and end of financial year reconciliations and working papers
Proactive analysis of accounts and variances
Maintain Accounts Receivable and Retention accounts – which may include following up payments from clients, and investigating and resolving any outstanding balances as required.
Manage the Bank Guarantee register and follow up with expired guarantees.
General administrative and office support tasks as required
Assisting with developing and refining work processes
Project reporting, financial review and analysis

Selection Criteria:
Strong bookkeeping or accounting experience (including payroll experience) is essential.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative, meet deadlines and work collaboratively within a team
High level of attention to detail
Ability to manage priorities and work unsupervised
Experience with an ERP system is desirable.
