About the role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to be accountable for the maintenance and control of the accounts payable subledger for the hospital, orthopaedic clinic and other businesses within the group.
Reporting to the Company Accountant, this role will suit candidates with strong communication skills, who are flexible, show initiative and have a positive "can-do" approach. The successful candidate will be driven by delivering high quality, accurate work to deadlines.
This is a part-time permanent position (equivalent 0.6 FTE).
Job responsibilities
Maintain and control the accounts payable subledger for the hospital, orthopaedic clinic and other businesses within the group;
Identify and manage requirements in relation to invoice payments made: operational requirements, cashflow constraints, approval issues, purchase order matching, supplier statement reconciliation and economies of scale;
Govern the company accounts payable policy, regularly reviewing the content and proposing improvements through the appropriate channels;
Proactively monitor financial performance, identifying problem areas as they arise and proposing a feasible solution;
Receive visitors into the corporate office;
Continually improve your financial, system and process knowledge of your area, sharing with other members of the team to upskill team capability;
Cross-skill across other members of the subledger team to provide cover during excessive workload and/or leave.
Skills and experience
Proven experience and knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, preferably within the health industry.
Intermediate practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with all personnel.
Can identify own educational needs and ensure that these are met.
