Job requirements

Educational requirements: Diploma or trade qualification

English requirements: Proficient English

Requirements for skilled employment experience for years: 5-8 years

Accept remote work: unacceptable

Responsibilities: • Field operations- you will be responsible for all land preparation, crop planning, planting, growing, irrigating and harvesting of the crops. • Planning and records- you will be required to submit a weekly and monthly plan and keep records of all inputs used on the farm. Keep harvest records of all crops including yields etc. • Maintaining and operating a modern fleet of tractors, vehicles and other machinery used on the farm- maintaining good records of maintenance. • Managing the irrigation including the bores and pumps and Centre pivots etc. • Experience in pest and weed management and soil nutrition needs. • Maintaining the buildings on Farm in good condition including all accommodation and sheds. • Labour and contractors - inducting all labour and contractors that is required to fulfil your duties. Skills and Qualifications. • At least 5 -10 years of farming experience, with a focus on cropping production; • Proven ability to maintain farm machinery and infrastructure. • Experience leading and motivating personnel; and • The ability to implement work programs within agreed time-frames. • Be familiar with the GPS record keeping and positioning systems. • Experience in sheep husbandry would be beneficial Experience: At least 5 Years of farm management (Preferred)
