Job requirements

Educational requirements: Diploma or trade qualification

English requirements: Competent English

Requirements for skilled employment experience for years: 3-5 years

Accept remote work: unacceptable

Key Responsibilities: • Consult daily with Head Chef/Sous Chef on the daily requirements, functions and last-minute events. • Ensure the junior chef and cooks strictly follow the procedures set by the Head Chef while cooking the ingredients. • Liaise with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and the Restaurant Manager in relation to addressing ongoing customer feedbacks and suggestion about our dishes on the menus. • Take the necessary control of cooking tasks when a customer has specific dietary requirements for a dish on our menus. • Take charge of the final plating and presentation duties when directed. • Assist the Head Chef/Sous Chef in the development of new dishes and menus. • Assist with the management of health and safety • Assist with the management of food hygiene practices • Assist with training of the junior chef and cooks. • Monitor stock and minimise waste. • Ensure effective communication between staff by maintaining a friendly work environment. • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers. Qualifications: • Relevant Trade Qualification or equivalent, with minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef. • Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation. • Capable of delegating multiple tasks. • Communication and leadership skills. • In-depth knowledge of food industry regulations. • Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, when required. • Organised with a love for well executed food. • Ability to produce own work in accordance with a deadline and to assist and encourage others in achieving this aim. • Good teamwork with kitchen staff. • Able to work under pressure.
