Responsibilities:
Clarify the client's design brief and requirements to better identify and analyse variations, types, sizes and styles between planned buildings and existing buildings
Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials
Create design briefs and supporting materials including details about designs, materials, and anticipated construction times
Supervise, coordinate, and inspect the work of draftspersons, technicians, and technologists on construction projects
Develop the accepted design idea, create project paperwork for presenting to client, integrate it with the engineer's structural and mechanical drawings, and integrate it with the landscape drawings to produce the aesthetic components of the master design
Assist the registered architect on the construction site in ensuring builders comply with design specifications and advising on correction matters
Prepare documentation required to apply for planning permits, including contacting planners and other advisers for advice
Create working drawings, freehand drawings, letter to accompany drawings and specifications to guarantee that the design and details meet all applicable rules and specifications in order to satisfy the demands of all authorities with jurisdiction
Discuss external and internal area designs, materials, pricing, and construction with consultants, experts, builders, and clients.
Prepare layout and plan interior room arrangements for the emergency/ambulance centre, schools, residential buildings, etc by using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software
Prepare site analysis and community data, including neighbourhood and façade studies, engage and integrate with arborist and land surveyor drawings that include geographic and ecological features, landforms, soils, vegetation, site hydrology, visual characteristics, and man-made structures, and prepare documents for environmental impact statements
Prepare reports that are integrated with other consultants' reports, working architectural and construction drawings, and cost proposal specifications
Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation in order to graphically represent building plan
Requirements:
1 to 3 years experience as a graduate architect
Understanding of business operations and architectural activities
Proficient in Revit (ideally drafting using this software in the work environment)
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite
The use of 3D tools such as Sketchup, Rhino and rendering skills will be highly regarded
Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of NCC and Australian Standards
Good time management skills
Systematic and critical thinking skills
Be fluent in English
