A busy hot pot restaurant located in Melbourne CBD is currently seeking a full-time Back-of-House Chef / Kitchen Cook to join our kitchen team. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking candidate with experience in Chinese cuisine, hot pot preparation, or commercial kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients for hot pot service, including meat, seafood, vegetables, soup bases, sauces and side dishes.
Assist with the preparation and cooking of Chinese-style dishes, hot pot broths and kitchen menu items.
Ensure food quality, taste, presentation and portion standards are maintained consistently.
Manage food preparation according to daily service requirements and kitchen workflow.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, food preparation areas and storage areas.
Assist with stock control, ingredient rotation, receiving deliveries and minimising food waste.
Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
Work closely with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Complete other kitchen duties as directed by the Head Chef or Restaurant Manager.
Requirements
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, Chinese restaurant, hot pot restaurant or similar food service environment.
Knowledge of Chinese cuisine, hot pot preparation, soup bases, sauces or kitchen food preparation will be highly regarded.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and hygiene.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable, responsible and able to work under pressure.
Availability to work full-time, including weekends, public holidays and split shifts if required.
Food safety knowledge or relevant certification will be highly regarded.
