If you are a strong software engineer with good hands-on experience in Big Data technologies and who has worked end-to-end in application development? Join an energetic, fast-paced and dynamic technology team that develops and maintains regulatory reporting systems.
The Big Data Engineer or Consultant will directly report to Phil Peluso. In this position, you will join a technology team implementing platform enhancements and data-related
solutions to address operational and regulatory reporting risk in support of Economic and Financial Statistics (EFS) suite of returns.
The role will require high-volume and develop robust and scalable analytics processing applications.
You will need to implement data integration pipelines that operate with maximum throughput and
minimum latency. You will need to draw on your knowledge of solving big data analytics use cases and frameworks for managing high-volume data processing and analytics.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing insights to clients. To do so, you will first meet with our clients to uncover their business needs and challenges. Then, you will use your strong analytical skills to perform quantitative and observational data analyses. From these analyses, you will form and present your recommendations to our clients.
Requirements:
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong database/SQL knowledge.
• Good experience in programming (PLSQL/C/C /Java)
• Strong knowledge of Unix/Shell scripting.
• Understanding of financial markets and products.
• Knowledge of scheduling tools (Control M, Autosys etc)
• Knowledge of xml and good experience in Java.
• Knowledge of SED/AWK/PERL.
• Experience in regulatory reporting highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments and products from banking and accounting perspective.
The job will require the candidate to work from Sydney and sometimes from the head office in Melbourne.
