About the role The company is seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Accountant to support the day-to-day operations of the finance team and contribute to various business improvement projects. The company is interested in finding a degree qualified accountant with some practical experience looking to grow their skills in a small finance team. Specific training will be provided to allow an accountant to gain skills in all functions of the finance team. The Accountant is responsible for general ledger journals, reconciliations, BAS returns and finance enquiries. Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, this position will be offered as a 3-year fixed term contract with the possibility of extension. Key responsibilities General Ledger journals BAS, Fringe Benefit Tax returns Preparing adhoc finance reports and enquiries in excel Monthly finance balance sheet reconciliations Undertaking other related projects and tasks You will have the following skills and experience A minimum of 1 year’s experience in an accounting role in Australia A degree in accountancy/commerce Advanced knowledge of excel will be highly regarded Strong analytical and problem-solving skills AN ability to communicate and gain trust with other team members Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills An ability to analyse issues, problems, and their implications Agility and flexibility working as part of a small finance team.
