The Role In a newly created role, the Financial Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller will be responsible for; Processing financial data and reporting financial information Assist with the reparation reports and financial statements Apply oil and gas accounting principles and practices Assist with the preparation of corporate and JV forecasts and budgets and liaise with budget holders throughout the year to ensure appropriate cost control (for corporate and operational activities) Reconcile accounts Monitor business performance Implement improvement initiatives Internal Reporting will include: Preparation of monthly journals Preparation of account reconciliations Assistance with the preparation of internal Monthly Management Report (MMR) to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Assistance with preparation of periodic accounting calculations (including impairment, restoration and DD&A) Assist in preparation of Board reporting and technical accounting papers Assist in management of G&A costs across all cost centres including forecasting and cost recovery process Assist in the corporate and joint venture budget process External Reporting to include: Assistance in preparation of annual and half-year financial report and financial information in quarterly reporting Support the external audit process Assistance in annual tax return completion with external advisors Assistance in preparation of quarterly PRRT instalment notices and PRRT annual returns Assistance in Joint Venture accounting Assistance with the treasury functions of the business Responsibility for ABS and other surveys
