Role purpose
The Manager Information Infrastructure is a senior role responsible for providing authoritative and knowledgeable advice on all facets of enterprise and solutions architecture, as well as leading and driving delivery of strategic architectural initiatives. This role works closely with senior managers, their teams, and vendors across the division and within the department.

The Manager Information is a senior role responsible for providing advice and recommendations on all facets of enterprise and solutions architecture. The role works with stakeholders across the business and partners with vendors to develop proposals, design solutions, and drive value from ICT investment.
Accountabilities
* In partnership with the key stakeholders and broader team;
* Work with staff and customers to understand the business requirements and business processes to ensure the information environment facilitates operations of the division.
* Manage the process for design and execution of the design, creation, deployment, and management of information infrastructure to comprehensively meet both operational and analytical data architecture, security, performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Define and/or influence how data will be received, stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different operators and IT systems, as well as any business applications using or processing that data in some way.
* Perform a key management and thought leadership role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, relational and non-relational data base design and implementation, data access, data integration, data visualisation, text mining, data discovery, statistical methods
* Support development of requirements and lead processes for data cleansing, transformation, and loading to populate facts and dimensions for data store.
* Lead development and delivery of models, rules and standards that govern how data is stored, arranged, integrated, and put to use in data systems.
* Ensure that all components of the information environment are designed, upgraded, managed, de-commissioned and archived in compliance with data policy across the full data life cycle.
* Monitor performance of information environment and mitigate and /or arrange rectification of deficiencies including managing relations with external contractors and service providers and monitor performance against contracts and service level agreements.
* Undertake a variety of technical procurement activities as required and once contracts have been negotiated, provide proactive vendor and contract management to ensure the division receives value for money services.
* Work collaboratively with other areas of the division, the Department of Health, and relevant vendors to ensure strategic alignment and that VAHI can support oversight, transparency and improved services and patient care and outcomes.
* As a member of the Platforms & Digital Innovation team:
* Contribute to development and implementation of the Division's strategy in ways that align with the evolving needs of its audiences, government policy and state-wide priorities
* Contribute to the Division's annual work plan and implementation of activities in it that are assigned to this branch
* Contribute to the Division's legislative compliance agenda, and participate in relevant activities assigned to this branch (e.g., privacy and confidentiality of information)
* Contribute to corporate leadership on matters related to project and program governance and change management
* Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Provide strategic, operational, and authoritative advice and briefings to the Director, and executive members.
* Lead and manage a team of specialists by:
* Supporting individuals to achieve their potential while maximising their contribution to support achievement of the Agency's goals and objectives

* Make professional presentations and represent the Agency at internal and external meetings, functions, forums, and events.
