Our client has successfully tendered for the construction of a number of solar farms throughout Australia and will provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction services on these important Australian renewable energy projects.
They are currently looking for a Civil Supervisor as part of their Bluegrass Solar Farm in Chinchilla, QLD (4413).
Responsibilities:
The role of Civil Supervisor is to supervise and manage workers and field personnel in executing the civil works, ensuring all safety measures and regulations are followed; and work progress and coordinate with the rest of the Project Team to deliver progress reports. Civil supervisors are needed on-site to develop their civil works, manage and monitor activities of their work crews, ensure progress and safety and oversee quality control testing once the project or the activity has been completed.
Main tasks:
The Civil Supervisor will:
Report to and support the Civil Superintendent in managing the civil works of the Solar Farm.
The purpose of this role is to manage the civil workmanship & equipment on site in an effective and efficient manner.
Be responsible of the execution of the civil works in the project.
Supervise workers, and subcontractors to ensure their work follows plans and is on schedule and on budget.
Analyze the drawings related to the civil packages from Engineering and subcontractors.
Attend to the Internal Coordination Meeting to contribute to the success of the Project.
Provide feedback regarding the performance of their crews.
Oversee and supervise field personnel and subcontractors; managing and supervising Production and Quality of Subcontractors and self-performance´s workforce, making sure they comply with scheduled works and contract´s requirements.
Be accountable for site-related action.
Ensure the necessary materials and plant equipment are available on site to meet execution dates, whether it is self-performing or subcontracting the activities.
Ensure all work is completed in line with the project schedule;
Ensure that relevant HSE, Quality and contractual requirements are applied and adhered to
Allocate and coordinate jobs to their workgroup;
Develop and effectively communicate the Project Plan and schedule to workgroups;
Ensure that the required materials and equipment are available on site to meet installation dates;
Ensure the quality of work meets the required standards and conduct work audits on job completion;
Ensure the delivery of the job within time and cost targets by effective supervision;
Promote leadership and teamwork within the workgroups;
Manage and monitor the implementation of all health, safety and environmental management obligations and systems at the site;
Manage the civil works;
Prepare weekly installation reports and issues/risks;
Ensure works are delivered as per contract agreements;
Preparation of the daily report with all the machinery, manpower, staff and performance reached in the day;
Conduct quality assurance checks on all contractors to ensure standard procedures and regulations are followed.
Maintain emergency backups, assess electrical systems and equipment, and make repairs as necessary.
Requirements
2 years’ experience in on site project construction or construction engineering within the relevant industries as civil site Supervisor or Civil Engineer.
Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
Uncompromising focus on safety. Safety certification may be required.
Proven leadership abilities with strong focus on team-building and performance management
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels;
Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and interfaces and prioritize accordingly;
Experience in coordinating a team and site inspections. Strong supervisory experience is a requirement, as you must manage a team of workers and meet goals independently of the other aspects of construction and with minimal oversight
Experience in managing subcontractors across a range of discipline.
The position is full time (38 hours).

Salary: AUD$90,000.00 plus superannuation
