We are seeking to recruit a qualified Cook who is keen to demonstrate and develop his/her skills in a dynamic kitchen environment. Key tasks include:
• Washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits & vegetables to prepare them for • consumption.
• Carving and trimming foods to ready them for different dishes.
• Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes & personal judgment.
• Regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Seasoning and cooking foods according to recipes & personal judgment.
• Turning & stirring foods to ensure even cooking;
• Observing and testing foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
• Portioning, arranging, and garnishing dishes, and passing them to wait-staff for service.
• Estimating food requirements and storing foods in temperature-controlled facilities.
• Minimising food wastage and maintaining excellent hygiene standards.
• Assisting in training other kitchen staff where required.
