Our client is an ambitious structural steel fabricator specialising in steel construction and metallic structural works industry, based in the South East Suburbs of Melbourne.
About the role
As an Engineering Technologist you will report to the Company Director.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Assists with the coordination and analysis of architectural and engineering drawings
Prepares inspection reports and progress reports, assists in analysing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads
Prepares detailed specifications reports, including structural and architectural plan analysis and project estimates to provide the tools for cost control
Formulates and submits project tender responses withing deadlines
Organises a variety of structural projects, including organizing and directing site labour, delivery of construction materials, plant and equipment, and coordinating the subcontractors to perform works as per the established program
Assesses the design feasibility and evaluates changes to designs and their implications/impact on the project as a whole
Prepares reports regarding tender status, progress of the builder in-design phase, drafting, material procurement, and civil works. Handover to PM department
Prepares handover kick-start project presentations
Prepares structural drawings for the delivery team
Effectively communicates with all engineering teams and stakeholders
Main Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
At least 2 years of experience in working in an engineering related field (Australian Standards)
Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
Significant experience and aptitude with the use of Auto CAD and REVIT software
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Language: English - excellent verbal and written communication skills
Licence/Certification: Driver Licence (Required)
Work Eligibility: The candidate can work permanently with no restriction on hours (preferred)
