Our client is Australia's leading manufacturer and supplier of complete pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater, offering a total solutions approach to its customers.
Their Plant in Somerton, Victoria is currently looking for an Electronics Engineer to join the team. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead the Electronics Engineer is responsible for Electrical and PLC projects, technical support and back up design engineer activities for the site.
The successful candidate needs to be results orientated, highly organised, innovative and flexible while managing day to day challenges.
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Update existing electrical schematics with any as built changes or modifications
Provide required documentation for installation and testing of electrical control systems for new projects.
Provide technical support for the electrical maintenance staff on machine breakdowns
Generate cost estimates, sub-contract prices, drawings, sketches, documentation and raise purchase orders relevant to specific projects.
Supervise the manufacture, installation and commissioning of specific projects.
Review modifications to the EHS aspects of plant machinery ensuring that potential hazards are identified and controlled.
Identify and report any non-conformances of product systems, unsafe practices or equipment.
Assist in the evaluation of problems and determination of changes to prevent recurrences and identify opportunities for improvement.
The successful candidate will have:
Associate Diploma or Degree in either Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering or highly experienced technician with 2-3 years’ work experience in the field
Good understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical principles
Reasonable knowledge of PLC and Drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred
Excellent trouble shooting, analysis and diagnostic skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
You will have a can-do proactive attitude and always able find a solution
The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
