Reporting to the Manager, Finance Controlling Australia & New Zealand – Accounting the Accountant will be responsible for undertaking the tasks outlined below which include but are not limited to:
Processing month-end activities in an accurate and timely manner
Ensuring standard operating procedures applicable for credit-controlling are being adhered to
Preparing accounting reports for Management
Processing daily journal entries
Generating and providing data/reports as required by the external Auditors
Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
Undertaking Bank account reconciliations
In conjunction with the Finance Team, identifying continuous improvement initiatives across the finance processes.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Perform financial reconciliations in a timely manner
Conduct regular master data reviews and maintain data confidentiality / integrity
Comply with financial policies and regulations
Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising accounting information and trends.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
To be successful for this position, you must have a:
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related subjects
3 years’ experience in a similar commercial / high volume end to end Accounts Officer role
Intermediate Excel and experience in SAP essential
High attention to detail and accuracy
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
Ability to work unsupervised
Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail
Highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise
Ability to work flexibly and under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to communicate across all levels of the Company and to work effectively with external organisations
