The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our team on a full-time, on-going basis.
Your primary focus is to manage the estimating and ordering for a portfolio of custom/luxury home builds and multi-unit developments from tendering through to completion.
Reporting directly to the Director/Owner some key accountabilities of this role include:
• Advanced knowledge of estimating and ordering using Databuild system.
• Knowledge of Australian residential building/construction methodology and/or standards.
• Knowledge of residential building/construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Interpretation of construction drawings, engineering drawings and specifications.
• Advanced computer skills in particular Microsoft 365 (Teams, Excel, Word & Outlook) and preferably with exposure to our CRM system CoConstruct.
• Be responsible and accountable for all works carried out in the building estimating department working towards maximum profitability.
• Completing all work with a focus on accuracy to minimise margin erosion.
• Preparation of variation costing.
• Resolve ordering oversights and or anomalies when identified, including ordering amendments as required.
• Assist in sourcing suppliers and prices for one off items where required.
• Participate in effective communication with construction staff and administration staff.
• Prepare and process of all purchase orders. About You To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria and demonstrate relevant skills:
• A Diploma in Building Construction, or a degree in an equivalent course mandatory.
• Working knowledge of construction processes and regulations.
• Working knowledge of an estimating system (ideally in Databuild).
• Work harmoniously with a close-knit team. • Excellent multi-tasking and time-management skills; with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
