About the role
We are looking for a full-time junior Quantity Surveyor with experience in residential construction to assist us with estimating, procurement and project management for our projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and prepare detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control.
Complete accurate take off’s.
Plan, develop and organise the construction efforts to formulate the most cost effective plan for timely completion of project within budget.
Provide profit/loss and cost overrun analysis.
Monitor changes to designs, assessing effects on cost.
Prepare and implement effective cost control measures into the master Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and ensure accurate and comprehensive BOQs are maintained.
Produce Job Cost Summaries from the BOQs prior to issuing Purchase Orders.
Monitor time frames closely and identity and alert relevant stakeholders of any variations. Assist with site requests for extra to schedule materials where required.
Review tenders, contracts and variations to ensure consistency across documentation when required.
Resolve supplier, sub contractor, site supervisors, accountant, design professionals and sales queries as required.
Maintain job budgets in line with purchases.
Prepare final accounts at completion of the project
Produce comprehensive and accurate Purchase Orders within scheduled timeframes.
Assign Purchase Orders to suppliers and contractors in a timely manner.
Communicate status of building estimating files to stakeholders.
Ensure all site files contain clear and accurate information and that they are prepared in a timely manner and in accordance with the predetermined schedule.

About you
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications/experience/skills:
Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Property or Project Management or related discipline
At least 2 years experience in residential construction
High level communication skills
Demonstrated record of accurate estimating/costing
