DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion.
Reviewing the project in-depth by understanding and interpreting the technical drawings and specifications by architects and engineers to schedule deliverables and estimate costs for materials, human resources and equipment.
Overseeing all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
Coordinating construction workers, subcontractors, owners, developers, and authorities to ensure that the projects are in compliance with the agreement and legislation, and are delivered in a timely manner within the approved budgets.
Negotiating terms of agreements, drafting contracts with clients.
Obtaining permits and licenses necessary for the projects. Arranging submission of plans as required by local authorities. Liaising with local authorities for building inspections pre, during and post projects.
Ensuring quality building standards and the use of proper construction techniques by construction workers and subcontractors.
Providing support for site staff in resolving any issues that may be associated with the scheduling and coordination of trade contractors and suppliers.
Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management.
EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Experience in residential building companies is highly regarded.
Experience in multisite rollouts, managing external consultants subcontractors is a plus.
OTHER SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
Knowledge of building products, Australian construction processes and details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Ability to plan and see the “big picture” with excellent time and project management skills.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are a must, including the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
Ability to investigate and get the information you require will make you much more effective in this role
SALARY
$100,000 plus per annum, plus superannuation.
