Duties & responsibilities
Preparing and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness required to meet reporting and procedural standards.
Projecting future cash flows by analyzing operating costs, income and expenditure, financial obligations, and commitments.
Assisting the company’s Management Accountant to analyze potential financial risks/rewards and conducting financial investigation in relation to viability of undertaking new capital investment projects such as expansion of business in new regions, purchase of new properties (Service Site’s), modification of existing properties.
Auditing financial documents to assure that the information contained in the financial records are accurate and compliant with statutory requirements.
Preparing and compiling various Financial Statements required to be presented to the Committee every month.
Enhancing accounting software skills timely, analyzing, and suggesting areas for improvement whenever needed to ensure accounting records are entered accurately.
Conducting quarterly audits of the entire accounting system, to assure organizational efficiency and effectiveness of objectives and accounting system by examining the internal controls.
Passing month end journal entries and assisting the company’s Management Accountant in filing for monthly BAS returns and yearly tax returns.
Budgeting costs by considering various factors to ensure efficient utilization of company resources.
Assisting in creation of optimum strategies in relation to taxation by ensuring firms resources are used efficiently and assets have been structured properly to minimize the incidence of taxation.
Collecting and analyzing account information to ensure financial discrepancies are reconciled.
Recommending and preparing accounting policies and procedures to ensure accounting controls are maintained.
Adhering confidentiality of financial records, ensuring secured backup of financial information.
Constantly examining changes to federal, state, and local financial legal requirements along with new legislations and regulation to ensure compliance with statutory requirements is achieved.
Gathering, compiling, and processing payroll of company employees using payroll software currently being used. (Reckon-Hosted).
Ensuring Roster costs are within Budget, liaising with the service managers to discuss any requirement in charge of budgets.
Handling NDIS related accounting functions such as claiming funds for the services provided to our clients as per NDIS guidelines and reconciling/ following up on the same to ensure smooth functioning of the organization.
Reconciling manual ledgers from all service sites, classing entries to appropriate accounts and transferring to accounting software to ensure appropriate record keeping in relation to service sites.
Preparing quarterly financial reports for client’s guardian to showcase client’s activities in the particular quarter.
Resolving client’s issues and discrepancies as they arise.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Bachelor’s Degree in finance
At least 2 years relevant experience
Experience in handling NDIS related accounting functions is essential
Experience in not-for-profit organization (NPO) accounting would be highly recommended
Deputy platform, including budgeting and rostering
Efficiency in Excel
Knowledge of Proda (claiming platform for NDIS)
Efficiency in Reckon
