The Financial Accountant role is primarily responsible for daily preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records. Reporting into the Finance Manager, the primary function of this critical team member is to prepare the monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reporting, to effectively monitor accounting and budgetary strategies against plan, and finally to ensure adherence of departmental spend against internal policies and controls. Our Finance team is viewed as a key player in leading strategic discussions and supporting all departments to deliver key insights and optimise decision making in fast paced and dynamic e-commerce business. The Financial Accountant will also perform a key role in compilation of data and reporting to facilitate such insights.
You will have direct access to a highly committed and experienced Finance Manager and will regularly work with other members of the management team, responsible for driving the business to new heights.
The day to day role will involve but not be limited to:
Preparation and delivery of timely and accurate reporting packages, including IFRS compliant monthly profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and investment analysis with support from the Finance Manager and CFO;
Confidence with tax reporting preparation including annual ITR, BAS, PAYG, Super and NZ GST
Confidence to work with request for accounting information from independent auditors
Confidence with advance ERP middle and back office accounting software
Preparation of weekly cash flow forecasting and controlling expenditure to support sound cash flow management
Understanding of payroll processing and systems
Explore and research of new technologies that enable improved ways of working and integrate with our current ERP and tech stack;
Coordinate high-quality communications across departments within the business with respect to management of monthly actuals against budget and forecasting;
Support the CFO in provision of business insight to support decision making and drive improved business performance;
Provide strong, clear, and inspiring direction, supervision and goal setting support for junior accounting team members to maintain and grow an engaged and high performing team;
Ensure the business identifies and addresses changing circumstances, environmental factors and trends, and adapts to these with entrepreneurial spirit; and
Maintain high standards of regulatory compliance, while continuing to deliver a prosperous business and not hindering True’s ability to be creative, dynamic, fast-moving and enjoyable.
This role will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with every department across the business. Prior experience in financial and management accounting essential. CA/CPA Qualified with 3 years’ experience (preferably commercial/corporate and ideally with sound knowledge of e-commerce and/or manufacturing). Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must. Experience with core ERP software (ie SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics) also advantageous.
