As the Financial Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be an active member of Head Office Finance team, and be responsible for:
Month-end and year-end processes, including assisting with preparation of Australian subsidiary results and group consolidations, and managed investment scheme financials.
Preparation of the managed investment scheme reconciliation to custodian reports as part of the half-year and annual reporting process.
Preparation of monthly Platform Billings, Domestic and International Equity Trading remittances, and invoices including reconciliation and assisting with adviser queries
Preparation of the Company’s management reporting and relevant Board reporting to meet Group reporting timetables and requirements
Liaising with the Auditor and assisting in managing the Audit process
Completion of balance sheet reconciliations
Cash balance reporting
Preparation of budgets and forecasts which are consistent with the Group’s strategic plan and vision and monitoring and reporting on progress against the same at both Australian business and Group level
Preparation of relevant Australia taxation requirements, including Company Tax, GST and FBT returns
Liaison with overseas offices
Provide key stakeholders with information required for operational decision-making including analysis, forecasting and modelling of any proposed business opportunities
Providing support with finance’s involvement in operational, commercial and special projects
Capabilities, Attributes, and Qualifications sought after:
Tertiary degree qualification in finance/accounting and commencing CPA or CA qualification
2 years experience in an Assistant Financial Accountant or Financial Accountant position
Ideally a background working for a listed or large parent company
Experience in statutory reporting and income tax, FBT and GST
Proficiency in MS Office suite – Intermediate Excel with prior experience with ERP systems preferred
Outstanding interpersonal skills and clear and unambiguous communication skills, in-person and online, via email, phone and digital apps, combined with effective listening skills as those are critical to the role
Superb organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple briefs and perform under pressure
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite and very comfortable with common cloud- based software, Slack, Teams, Zoom
Ability to work in an Agile environment, adopting a consultative and cooperative approach to your work
