Job Purpose
Technically supporting core products in Japan that deliver data to clients in the financial sector. The team is expected to develop new features, add new data, comply with various internal and external requirements and solve problems to grow the business by enhancing and maintaining the products.
Responsibilities
- Support/maintain product in production critical to the business.
- Design and configure servers required by the products.
- Efficiently design, write, test and deploy good programs used by the products.
- Troubleshoot various issues that may arise. Try avoiding incidents from impacting clients.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Collaborate and work closely with other teams particularly Support, Data Center Ops, Sales and Engineering teams.
- Communication with Japanese clients will be required as well.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum requirement is fluency in both Japanese and English, proficiency in UNIX commands and experience in programming.
- Experience/knowledge in UNIX server setup (installing OS and configuring HA) is very desirable.
- Experience/knowledge in web programming (PHP) using Model-View-Controller model is very desirable.
- Experience/knowledge in SQL is desirable.
- Experience/knowledge in writing programs using shell scripts is desirable.
- Experience/knowledge in setting up and using SFTP will help.
- Experience/knowledge in writing programs using C programming language will help.
- Knowledge in securities industry (equities, fixed income, derivatives, ETF, indices, etc) will help.
