Personal Assistant- Colorectal Surgeon

One on One Role
Full Time Role- Work From Home up to 1 Day per Week
Our client is a soon to be launched Practice of 3 Colorectal and General Surgeons with more than 25 years cumulative experience in private practice. Established with the goal in mind to set a new standard for Patient Care, Patient Experience and Clinical outcome, this role will play a critical part in supporting well-respected surgeons currently working in multiple hospitals throughout Adelaide. Embracing practice values comprising loyalty, empathy, and respect to all we encounter, this newly created role will work in a one on one capacity supporting one of our Surgeons.
Working as the primary administrative support to our Surgeon, this role will be responsible for undertaking day to day activity to support the doctor. Responsible for ensuring our patients receive a world class patient experience pre and post consultation, this role will also provide limited support to our group of Surgeons within the group.
Other Key areas of responsibility include:
Patient management
Manage patient enquiries (phone or internet based) in a timely manner
Maintain confidentiality of patient’s personal, medical and financial details
Administration
Manage patient consultation and surgical bookings, including any required pre operative and post operative care
Provide patients with medical quotes for consultations and procedures
General
Provide general support to the doctors (i.e. travel bookings, preparation of presentations etc) as required
Non-clinical assistance may be required to enable smooth function of practice
Financial
Prepare and process patient invoices
Prepare day hospital admission paperwork and eligibility checks
Business Development
Assist with execution of marketing and GP referral campaign
Assist with continuous business improvement initiatives
Offered as permanent full-time role, some flexibility in hours and the ability to work from home up to one day per week are offered to ensure interest from standout applicants, understanding that an occasional Saturday morning session is likely to form part of the role.
Ideally suiting an individual with experience from within medical administration, applicants from Specialist rooms, General Practice or those with a background with hospital admissions experience are strongly encouraged. Applicants need to be able to work as a team member and autonomously and will be ably by supported by a team which will include resources across Nursing, Bookkeeping, Accounting, Administration, Typing, Reception and other Personal Assistants within the newly formed team structure. Excellent time management, communication skills and flexibility will be essential given the start-up nature of the role and ambition to grow over time.
