The Role
We are looking for a talented Mechanical/Product Design Engineer or Industrial Designer with a passion for design & new tech. You will work autonomously or alongside our multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design products for our expanding pipeline of exciting projects.
You will be involved in the entire product development process; researching, analysing, designing, prototyping, testing, evaluating, launching, monitoring, and evolving as required. You will work closely with our team, our clients, and our suppliers to design industry leading product solutions.
This role will suit someone who relishes in the process of solving problems and isn’t afraid to think outside the box. You will have the ability to look at existing products and see how they could work or look better.
What you’ll Do
Design, detail & build end-use products, mechanical parts and assemblies in a variety of different materials and processes.
Work with clients to determine the design requirements and scope
Brainstorm ideas, designs and develop concepts for client presentations
3D CAD modelling (preferably SolidWorks)
Create concept renders for presentations and visual communication (preferably using Keyshot & Adobe Creative Suite)
Prototype and test ideas in our engineering & production workshop
Create lateral design solutions whilst maintaining cost requirements
Maintain document control of drawing lists and design change notices
Work with suppliers and sub-contractors to procure parts and prototypes
Assist in the preparation of operational product design manuals and Production assembly work instructions
What you’ll Need
Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical/Product Design Engineering or Industrial Design
3D CAD Modelling experience (Solidworks)
Concept rendering and presentation skills (Keyshot, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication
Good understanding of design requirements for plastic components
Good documentation skills using Microsoft Excel and Word
A basic knowledge of power and communication wiring in electromechanical enclosures
A basic understanding of electrical safety and EMC
