About the Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced technology leader to join the University’s IT Services team as Deputy Director.
The University is now extremely reliant on digital services and tools in every area. The IT strategy has created an approach to the development and delivery of digital services that removes the constraints previously placed upon the growth and development of the University. The move to remote teaching, learning and working resulting from the global pandemic has demonstrated the success of the University’s IT strategy. It emphasises that we will grow and enhance the wider student experience, trial and adopt new approaches to teaching and learning and new ways of working in higher education practice.
The effective and efficient operation of ICT services is critical to the continuing success and operation of the University. The development of new and existing services and systems is even more essential in the current circumstances to support the development and growth of the University.
The role is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of our infrastructure, ICT procurement, Application services, and Customer Technology services including AV, learning environments, customer support and end-device services teams, which deliver, support and develop the ICT infrastructure.
The Deputy Director is a key leadership role within the Department and as such will assume all duties of the Department in the absence of the Director and contribute to the strategic direction of the department. The role is a key point of contact with the IT Services Department for senior colleagues and student leaders within the University.
