Your New Role :
As an Accountant, you will have a broad remit. You will have financial and statutory duties as well as being responsible for budgeting, forecasting and advisory services. The role offers a good range of commercial decision making, high level responsibilities, and high profile where you can really make a difference on divisional profitability. You will provide general support to the operational managers in terms of budgeting and forecasting and understanding of costs, and be responsible for the overall sites monthly reporting and analysis. You will play a pro-active role in understanding key customer profitability, margins, and high level of support to the operational team. The successful candidate will undertake various accounting duties as outlined below using MYOB accounting software, as well as routine administration and financial analysis work. This position lends itself to a person who is extremely proficient and capable of working consistently in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES:
· Organize and update financial records as needed (digital and physical)
· Analyze transactions and prepare reports
· Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures and investments
· Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins
· Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable
· Participate in budgeting processes
· Brief senior managers regularly on the company’s financial status
· Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations
· Compliance Work
o Attack routine compliance tasks including:
o Monthly, Quarterly & Annual BAS & IAS
o Work cover reporting
o QBCC reporting
o Payroll Tax reporting
o Taxable payment reporting
o ASIC disclosures and compliance
· Prepare tax reports and other government reports and ensure to be on time with all tax obligations date and track tax payments and returns
· Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly
· Keep company financial information confidential
· Establish accounting policies and procedures
ABOUT YOU
· Commerce Degree majoring in accounting or related field
· Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant experience working in accounting or a similar role
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of cloud-based accounting software, ideally MYOB Advanced
· Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
· Strong leadership and team-building abilities
· Confidence to work autonomously
· Ability to think outside the box and recommend solutions
· Intermediate to Advance level in Microsoft Office products
· Strong attention to detail and written communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and multitask
