An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join this high-performing team. In this role you will be responsible for providing a range of financial accounting services to support operational performance and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting is maintained with appropriate controls across the general ledger and business transactions of the company. Responsibilities also include analysing trends and partnering with the business to ensure financial targets and operational performance objectives are met. You will also be responsible for managing a team of up to three direct reports. A normal day may see you: Complete monthly processes of capturing journals, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting. Prepare the consolidation/elimination entries for the month end process. Complete monthly financial reporting as well as analyse premium, claims and related expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately. Preparation of monthly reports and presentations for the Executive team that articulates the performance of the business, as well as operational drivers. Board Reporting on a quarterly basis as required. Maintain a strong understanding of the statutory and legislative compliance obligations through review / preparation of the various Indirect Tax submissions including BAS, FBT return, and insurance duties and levies returns. Perform the role of Finance Business Partner supporting various operational areas with their financial transactions and decisions. Assisting operational areas with their financial reporting requirements including cost centre analysis and budget variance analysis. Mentor and support the team of up to three assistant accountants regarding financial processes and finance advice, including stakeholder management as part of the business partner function. Skills & Experience The successful candidate is likely to have; Relevant business degree CPA/CA qualified or nearly At least five years’ experience in a finance role similar to the position objectives/key outcomes identified in this role. High attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid problem solving and analytical skills and ability to work efficiently towards deadlines. Ability to work independently, proactively and with little supervision. Intermediate Excel and Word skills as a minimum, strong skills desired
