Partnered with other SaaS providers and cloud vendors (e.g. Slack, Atlassian and AWS), our products commonly incorporate the latest technologies and features to provide the innovate solutions to our customers. We enjoy working with Engineers who possess a strong growth-mindset, are interested in problem solving and are able to demonstrate leadership skills. Our integrations process around 10 million events per day, so expect to be challenged by the global scale and complexity of these systems. What you’ll be doing Leading the full lifecycle of product delivery from idea to deployment. Champion reliability and operational excellence for our products. Developing on the Zendesk platform, the Zendesk Apps framework, and various other Zendesk core technologies to help our customers connect to other leading SaaS platforms. Writing reliable, reusable and scalable code that you are proud of! Actively lead team discussions about the best way to implement and review each other's code. Proactively find opportunities to improve code, modernize legacy capability and continuously strengthen reliability and visibility of our products. Contribute to continuously improving the development and operational ways of working within the team and across teams. Work closely with Group Tech Leads, Product Managers and other engineering teams to build exciting products our users love. Mentor other team members and help grow the technical capability and the culture of the scrum team, aligned to Zendesk values. What you bring to the role Experience in a backend language such as Go or Ruby. You care deeply about reliability and advocate Site Reliability Engineering principles and practices. Experience working on cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including Kubernetes would be a definite added advantage. The ability to dive in and debug sophisticated problems in the code. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, as collaborating closely within our teams in Melbourne and other offices will be key to the success for this role. We work flexibly and asynchronously; so please don’t be concerned with having to match various time zones. Strong ownership of your work, with proven ability to drive projects and features from inception through to completion. Ability to influence without authority, inspire and mentor others.
