Banking Reconciliation Officer
The Role
We are seeking a talented Banking Officer within the team who has the skill and capabilities to work in a fast-paced retail environment. Working within a small team of banking officers, as part of the wider Financial Accounting team, and reporting to the Senior Banking Officer, you will be responsible for managing cash balances, payments and reconciliations. Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing daily cash balance activities for designated areas with defined processes in a timely and efficient manner
Completing end to end banking payments accurately, including reconciliation of bank accounts and daily allocation of designated direct deposits and payments
Collaborating with stores and other relevant teams to identify, investigate and resolve cash and banking related issues, escalating where required
Completing financial period close procedures (monthly and annually), including end of period reconciliations
Acting as a key point of contact for store teams regarding cash banking queries
Assisting external auditors with requests for banking support and subsequent queries
Identifying and contributing to improvements to store cash banking processes, as required
About You
Minimum 3 years' experience in banking or accounts payable/receivable, preferably within a retail/similar environment
Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills
Experience in using a large ERP system preferred, and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
