Your new role
Contribute to and provide expert advice to high level designs, data models and perform investigations and validation to designs and assumptions and risks.
Lead detailed solution design, estimation and specification processes ensuring alignment to Solution Architecture, data models, data mapping, requirements, strategy, roadmaps, and Business outcomes
Collaborate closely with Delivery Managers, Iteration Managers, Project Managers, Architects, and other leaders to deliver initiatives and products utilising lean and agile project management methods.
Provide timely and accurate status reporting of delivery activities
Contribute to Risk management, Work Break Down and Project planning
Implement, promote, and champion Data Engineering ways of working including and not limited to test driven, automated testing, continuous build, continuous integration, and continuous delivery & deployment.
Setup and maintain development environments and tools including, Jenkins (CI) pipelines & data acquisition and be provide support to the delivery team.
Participate in the delivery of data acquisition, data transformation and data pipelines through to the point of consumption.
Lead problem determination, root cause and delivery of permanent fixes / work arounds as appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
AWS certified Cloud Practitioner
AWS certified Data Analytics Specialty or demonstrable experience
AWS certified Database Specialty or demonstrable experience
IBM certified Solution Developer - InfoSphere Datastage or demonstrable experience
ITIL Foundations
At least 7-8 years appropriate industry experience in large Insurance organisation.
Strong SQL background, with capability to Write SQL with a performance mindset, troubleshoot performance, mentor and train other staff.
Demonstrable ability to perform analysis, data mapping validation as well as data model implementation. Comfortable working and leading within conceptual, logical, and physical data models following either Inmon or Kimball patterns.
