Major responsibilities
Management of NPD projects as per stakeholder requirements.
Develop energy efficient, sustainable and state of the art commercial refrigeration products to the Hussmann product line.
Investigation, evaluation, design, maintenance, administration and support of mock-ups, prototypes and new products.
Comply with the strategy, policies and standards established for the management of Hussmann Oceania.
Key Accountabilities
Design of complete product using Solid Edge, release detailed drawings and building of prototypes.
BOM creation, Component ordering and overall management of design project.
Regular progress updates to the stakeholders and maintain clear and on time communication with stakeholders.
Take the ownership of the design project, obtain required stakeholder approval and drive the projects to the completion within time, cost and quality constraints.
Analysis of product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing and emerging manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
Provide technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning.
Produce 3D rendered images, Exploded views, system layout and schematics.
Communicate with overseas teams to direct or coordinate, design or manufacturing to build prototype/ products.
Confer with operational personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs.
Confer with operational, conformance and other engineering personnel and prepare design modifications as required.
Compile and analyse operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified product or equipment.
Essential
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3-5 years’ of experience in mechanical design.
In-depth knowledge of Solid Edge, Solidworks, Inventor or any other 3D CAD software.
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and effective problem solving.
Ability to communicate clearly and timely manner to update project progress and support the other business needs.
Strong engineering and design skills with a high degree of technical competence and ability to develop solutions.
Impeccable attention to detail.
Desirable
Experience with new product design (full product) with the design ownership.
Experience in HVAC product design.
Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
Electrical, Mechatronics and IoT knowledge.
Sheetmetal and Casing design experience.
