The Opportunity
As a result of growth, we have opportunities for Project Engineers to work on a range of projects we are currently delivering in the South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia.
What you will do
Support the preparation of project specific construction plans and construction program.
Lead by example and direct site activities in line with company, Government Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
Identify safety hazards and report OH&S incidents.
Under the guidance of the Site Manager, supervise and direct site labour, plant, equipment and the delivery of construction materials to complete the project on time and on budget.
Maintain record of site activities in line with Golder quality policies and procedures with focus on Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
Monitor changes to designs, assessing effects on cost and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs.
Communicate progress of site activities to senior engineers and project managers.
Carry out engineering tasks by applying standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Assist in data interpretation, analyses and evaluations on tasks.
Prepare specifications and measurement of quantities for review by senior engineer.
Determine construction methods, materials and quality standards
Draft and interpret specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures.
Contribute to the preparation of tenders and reports.
Analyse engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budget control.
What we will love about you
A relevant Bachelor degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related discipline along with a industry experience would be preferred
Current Australian drivers licence
Site-based (Mining/Construction) experience, including FIFO or remote location work highly regarded but not essential
Display a safety-first attitude and always be conscious of health and safety
Flexible, communicative, adaptable
Solid fieldwork experience in construction management or a site-based engineering role
Proven ability to work effectively in isolation and within a team environment
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to occupational health & safety
Excellent time management skills
Knowledge of MS office suite
