As a senior structural design engineer, you will have a high and excellent level of design, analytical, technical and computer skills gained over a minimum of 8-10 years in a local consulting engineering practice.
You will have the ability to work autonomously. You will undertake the initial concept and detailed design and in general assume the overall project co-ordination, including liaison and meetings with clients and other design professionals. You will be able to oversee a small team of engineers and draftspeople for the number of projects under your supervision. You will have excellent leadership attributes together with outstanding communication skills both written and oral. You will also have a strong desire to continue to keep abreast of new developments, systems and applications in the field of structural engineering. You will be a passionate advocate of structural engineering excellence who will be a role model and inspiration to the younger members of our practice.
The right candidate, as a minimum, will have a four year tertiary degree from a recognized institution, be a chartered member of the Institution of Engineers Australia, a Registered Professional Engineer or affiliate of other structural college such as Institute of structural engineers (MIStructE).
