The Civil Engineer is a key member of the Assets Engineering team, and supports the Principal Civil Engineer in the overall management, protection and compliance of the highway aspects of TQ’s assets. These assets include pavements and pavement structures, roadside furniture, signage, drainage infrastructure and noise barriers across the Gateway Motorway, the Logan Motorway, Legacy Way, Go Between Bridge, Inner City Bypass, Airport link and Clem 7.
The impact you’ll have: As part of this role you will develop solutions for asset-based maintenance and improvements, manage asset condition assessments, initiate various programs and ensure that assets are at optimal operating performance with a whole-of-life balanced approach for asset longevity. Further you will be required to coordinate inspections and participate in shutdowns to assist the Principal Civil Engineer in understanding the asset condition.
The talents you’ll bring: • You’ll hold a tertiary qualification in Civil engineering and be willing to undertake Continuing Professional Development activities as necessary to assist with gaining Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ) accreditation • You’ll have gained experience working in an infrastructure environment, ideally across motorways or tunnels. Flexible and rigid pavement background, along with related asset infrastructure experience would be preferred
• You’ll possess knowledge of local and international codes and standards used in asset management and engineering in the civil discipline • You’ll be highly collaborative and a have a strong enthusiasm toward building and developing your career as a Civil engineering professional • You’ll be proactive, flexible and resilient with an ability to respond to emergency situations as required, on a 24/7 basis and attend tunnel shuts/night shifts as required
