The opportunity
This role is offered as a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager you will:
Manage engineering designs from concept to completion.
Design and release technical solutions to integrate or relocate components and assemblies from chassis to enable fitment of equipment body. This will include relocation/modification of exhaust, fuel, air, brake, battery and others. Ensuring this work is completed in line with national and state compliance and regulation.
Develop a sound knowledge in components, assemblies, and applications of vacuum trucks and sweepers.
Engineering
Implement safe work practices and procedures, ensuring all work conducted is compliant with Australian OHS requirements.
Create Standard Operating Procedures [SOPs] and other processes, Bill of Materials [BOM], material flows, End of Line [EoL] testing, Occupational Health and Safety [OHS], working closely with predelivery team.
Working with the body supplier, create and maintain SOP to control the process and material flows for chassis to sweeper body marriage.
Implement and manage lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste.
Ensure all completed product is Fit for Purpose, meeting all requirements and KORs quality standards.
About you
To ensure your success in this position, you will need:
• A tertiary Qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical) or related.
Competency in operations related to engineering, manufacturing, and logistics.
A demonstrated a strong mechanical aptitude with a hands-on engineering approach.
Demonstrable engineering skills with mechanical 2D/3D design and manufacture.
Able to create 2D, 3D mechanical designs with SolidWorks.
An understanding of electrical schematics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Comfortable rapport with a wide range of personalities.
Demonstrated coordination and time management skills, following timelines and managing multiple tasks.
