Tasks:
Washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits & vegetables to prepare them for consumption; Carving and trimming foods to ready them for different dishes; Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes & personal judgment; Regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; Seasoning and cooking foods according to recipes & personal judgment; Turning & stirring foods to ensure even cooking; Observing and testing foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently; Portioning, arranging, and garnishing dishes, and passing them to wait-staff for service; Estimating food requirements and storing foods in temperature controlled facilities; Minimising food wastage and maintaining excellent hygiene standards; Assisting in training other kitchen staff where required.
