The Role: We are looking for a qualified Quantity Surveyor (intermediate) to join our Infrastructure business. Key responsibilities include: • Estimating and monitoring construction costs • Interpreting construction documentation and specifications • Monitor expenditure against budgeted categories, reviewing cost reports to establish actual costs. • Apply life cycle costing techniques to the costing and management of construction project costs. • Analyse and advise on relevant environmental considerations • Obtain and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing. • Meeting and managing strict timeframes. • Support the Civil and Infrastructure team. To be considered for this role you will need to have the following: • Experience in the field. • Solid knowledge of construction methods and materials to estimate and monitor costs, from concept design to completion. • MS Project experience • Strong time management skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Quantity Surveying - Change Management and Control • Subcontractor Management & Procurement • Contract Negotiation and troubleshooting • Problem solving skills; identifying design issues, and providing outcomes and solutions • Advanced AutoCAD skills. • Advanced computer knowledge incl. Office, Acrobat, as well as Excel, Project Management tools • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
