Duties :
• Painting to the highest standard of workmanship - surface prep, as well as mixing and matching
• Working with a deep understanding of OHS practices and requirements, apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures.
• Washing, scraping, sanding and/or smoothing interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, or applying other related materials
• Thoroughly cleaning equipment, paint mixing area and work area
• Installing, repairing, and maintaining all sorts of internal surfaces, walls to ceilings
• Correctly measure surfaces and install wallpapers and similar materials.
• Competently erect and use apparatus (ladders and planks) to work safely at all heights
• Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.
Requirements:
• Trade qualified (at least AQF Certificate III with 3 years on the job training) • Minimum 2 years’ experience since you earned your trade qualifications
• Appropriate cards and industry certificates (EWP, WAH)
• Solid understanding of workplace health and safety rules and the ability to follow safe working principles
• Ability to work as part of a busy team on bigger jobs as well as have the ability to complete and manage smaller jobs on their own
• Unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia
• Driver’s license
