What you'll be doing:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the farm, reaching productivity targets all whilst maintaining top quality production. You will be a hands-on leader, able to work smart, fast and efficiently. Strong communication skills, reliability, commitment and good health are a must. Applicants should possess passion and pride for their work and be comfortable in working with local and interstate stakeholders.
Recruiting and managing a team of workers for the farm
Manage crops and planning production
Growing, harvesting and crop maintenance activities
Day to day supervision of nursery hands
Maintaining acceptable hygiene levels within your glasshouse and using various chemicals to control pests and diseases
Rotate SATURDAY/SUNDAY morning rosters each weekend
Planning, documentation and implementation of research and development in growing, breed selection, longevity and cultivation activities
Preparation of reports on findings and overseeing the management of intellectual property
Selecting and planting seed, seedling and builds and grafting new varieties
Heading up teams to manage the collecting, storing, grading and packaging of produce, maintaining crop production by cultivation, monitoring data and record keeping
