The Role:
A hands-on role reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant is a pivotal role in the office and in the organisation’s business operations.
The Accountant provides integral support to the Finance Manager for a range of financial and accounts tasks including EOM processing & data entry, Balance Sheet reconciliations, various budgeting / forecasting and analysis tasks ensuring they are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
The accountant will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Accurate & timely completion of EOM journal calculations, processing and assisting in the preparation of monthly reports and analysis for the Finance Manager
Creation of streamlined excel models for cost allocations, journals and other Adhoc reports
Assist in various projects within the Finance team including potential system migrations etc
Accurate & timely completion of weekly Payroll & Leave related journal calculations and reports
Preparing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and reporting variances to the Finance Manager
Posting of standing and reversing journals as instructed.
Completing reconciliations
Monthly analysis and reporting of actual results against the budget and forecast
Assisting the Finance Manager in the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process by providing accurate cost analysis
Key to your success:
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar Accounting role within a busy and complex commercial environment
Advanced excel skills, with the ability to write macros advantageous
Customer Service oriented with the ability to provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner
High level competency in utilising a variety of technology
An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and able to multitask and be adaptive in a sometimes unstructured, fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently with a diverse range of people
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and self-management skills and proven capacity to work in a small team within a fluid and dynamic environment with limited supervision
High-level organisational skills, including the ability to meet and anticipate corporate deadlines, and coordinate and prioritise work, as well as take the initiative with limited supervision
