The key responsibilities of the role will include:
Ensuring projects are managed in line with Qenos policy, Australian standards, and regulatory requirements
Ensuring the projects developed comply with critical SHE requirements and deliver a continuous improvement outcome
Undertaking technical and economic screening of ideas and developing design bases utilising lean project methodology
Managing and leading the project team across all projects as well as their deliverables
Working with third party providers to ensure optimal project design, reviewing any mechanical and machinery related projects across our Altona sites and providing reliability and technical advice to others to troubleshoot the optimal outcome
Provide second line support to the Operations and Maintenance group in area of expertise.
Investigating plant performance issues, developing solutions, and implementing changes to provide a permanent fix
About You
To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor level Mechanical Engineering qualification at a minimum, with 5 year’s experience of working in project engineering or plant improvements on brownfield projects, and have a true passion for troubleshooting and optimisation initiatives along with:
The commitment to operate safely in a plant based environment
Experience working on a variety of small, medium and large projects, including brownfield projects
The ability to mentor and guide contractors through plant based problems
Analytical problem solving abilities to resolve plant based problems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a range of stakeholders
The ability to lead a project and be able to take initiative and action independently
