Experienced Veterinary Nurses Required
Our hospital has a strong surgery focus, with our business model based on making access to care more affordable.
Two positions are currently available. The ideal nurse would be someone who can work both autonomously and in a team.
An interest in surgical nursing would be beneficial as we do a large amount of orthopaedic work that includes cruciate repair (via TTA and MMP and Zlig), fracture repairs, MLP etc.
We also see a variety of surgeries such as ex-laps, splenectomies, mass removals, caesareans.
Experience and skills required:
• Handling and husbandry of small animals- cats, dogs, exotics and wildlife
• IV catheter placement
• Blood sampling
• Pathology - running blood samples, urine samples and preparation of samples for examination.
• Admit and discharge hospital patients.
• Conducting nurse consultations under the direction of a veterinary surgeon - post op checks, prescribed administration of medications, advice etc
• Positioning and performing x rays
• Surgical nursing
• Confident monitoring and managing anesthetized patients
