We are experiencing rapid growth and require an Assistant Accountant to join our Accounts Team. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner at LCL Accounting, the Assistant Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions for our clients. You will be working closely with other members of the Accounts Team and be able to liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties (customers, suppliers, service providers, auditors, etc.)
Core Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
preparation of purchase orders, bi-monthly payment run, BPAY, and EFTs;
reconciliation of supplier accounts;
reconciliation of company credit cards.
Accounts Receivable:
preparation of quotes;
entry of invoices;
allocation of payments received;
recharges to other organisations where required;
credit control and collection of outstanding debts.
Payroll & Superannuation
process monthly payroll;
maintain staff leave records and reconcile monthly leave balances;
maintain staff salary packaging records and produce appropriate reporting;
maintain staff FBT records;
monthly reconciliation and payment of superannuation;
preparation of monthly IAS lodgement.
Fixed Assets:
maintain fixed asset register and balance to GL;
coordinate annual fixed asset audit.
Month End Journals and Reporting:
Month end journals entries and worksheet (including leave accruals, depreciation, accrual / deferred income and expenses);
Preparation of monthly financial reports (including P&L, balance sheet, aged receivables, leave balance, etc.);
BAS preparation;
Liaises with external auditors for annual audited financial report.
Other accounting administration functions as and when required.
Person Specification
Qualifications / Industry Experience / Specific Knowledge or Skills
Essential:
Degree qualified in finance / accounting;
1 - 2 years solid experience in financial accounting;
experience in the use of accounting system, preferably Xero;
advanced MS Office skills, especially MS Excel.
Desirable:
Studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (CPA/CA);
Salesforce experience;
Project accounting experience.
