The Opportunity
This position will be located with the Digital Innovations team based in Toowoomba but will work closely with team members and collaborators interstate and overseas. Nestled away from the super busy city life, this role will initially start at Toowoomba, QLD however will move to Forest Hill, QLD giving you umpteen reasons to apply. If you have strong skills in software engineering processes and are willing to learn about our science, agriculture, and new technologies then do not hesitate to apply.
Most importantly, if you have the appetite to learn under the guidance of technical experts and are interested in making a contribution to tackling problems of food security, greenhouse gas emissions and climate change, and environmental sustainability then this role is for you.
To be considered you will need: A relevant bachelor’s degree, plus significant post-graduate experience within industry or academia. Strong experience in programming in C#, Python or equivalent. Experience in software process management Ability to communicate and work well within a diverse team. Willingness to learn something new.

Your duties will include: Assist in the development of new modelling capability for APSIM Redesign and refactor existing code for improved performance and maintainability Providing software/modelling support for CSIRO projects, solving real-world world problems Assist in design and implementation of digital infrastructure for a new cutting-edge research station. Working within a team using agile software development principles.
