Educational requirements: Diploma or trade qualification

English requirements: Competent English

Requirements for skilled employment experience for years: 3-5 years

Required residence status: None

Responsibilities • Provide high quality carpentry services to clients across the home building industry. • Reading and interpreting architectural & engineering drawings, sketches, plans and specifications. • Taking measurements, calculating the size and amounts of inputs needed. • Delegate work to independent sub-contractors as necessary. • As required fabricate, install finishing detail, and ensure fittings such as windows and doors operate as expected • If required, liaise with suppliers to confirm material orders and lead times to maintain efficient schedule and workflow. To be considered, we expect to see: • Well-developed communications skills (regular supplier liaison and client meetings are part of the brief) • Current Drivers Licence • Possession of a Cert IV in a relevant discipline (or agreed alternative) • Proven three (preferably more) years’ experience as a carpenter in residential construction • Good knowledge of all relevant Building Codes and regulations • Proficient skills in reading plans and experience in residential new builds in estates and infill housing. • Highly developed understanding of work health and safety laws applicable to Melbourne and Victorian work sites
