We are a modern and innovative boutique law firm located in East Melbourne and CBD Melbourne. Our firm and our Family Law team continues to grow, and consequently, an opportunity exists within our Family Law team for a Family Law Solicitor.
The role within our firm requires and provides the opportunity to run an extensive range of Family Law matters with a high level of autonomy but also have excellent support and mentoring as desired.
The role will involve (dependent upon experience):
• Full carriage of complex family matters from the taking of initial instructions and interviewing clients to the completion of the matter, including recommending and undertaking appropriate legal action;
• Drafting court documents, agreements, correspondence and advice;
• Preparing cases for court by conducting investigations, undertaking research, arranging witness preparation and family reports, and filing notices to Court;
• Court appearances at all levels within the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court of Australia as well as local Magistrates Courts (including via video link);
• Managing and having carriage of property settlements, including dealing with caveats and registered interests over Titles;
• The development of strategies to resolve complex disputes on behalf of clients, providing clients with the appropriate advice and execution of those strategies; and
• Being involved in networking, marketing strategies and business development.
