Job duties and responsibilities include:
• Performing agronomic management of mushroom growing/harvesting system trials, data collection, data compilation and report writing
• Managing mushroom yield of 25% of substrate weight
• Achieving mushroom quality as per our supermarket specifications
• Managing remote AEM air handling unit & technology
• Managing growing cycle in line with customer demand
• Adhering to Freshcare, HARPS, ACO certification requirements and regulations
• Watering schedule
• Humidifier operation and monitoring
• Maintenance of growing equipment
• Substrate manufacturing and ordering
• Substrate filling & emptying
• Advising harvest team on picking strategy
• Training up other team members of shiitake growing strategy
• Working with other farm managers to achieve weekly goals
• Create a weekly growing report including projections for the following weeks yield
• Liaising with the external agronomists, agriculture technologist and consultants
The applicants will have the following skills and experience:
• AQF Certificate III or IV in the horticulture, viticulture or in a related field
• Extensive grower experience with knowledge in crop health, production procedure and pest control
• Computing/administration skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge and experience of agricultural production principles
• Driver’s licence
