Your new role
The IT Architect’s responsibilities include gathering and identifying technical and functional requirement specifications for new projects and solutions, assessing current software and hardware systems to identify areas of improvement and ensuring alignment with architecture principles by:
Working with project teams and business areas to determine their needs and requirements to consult and establish optimal technical specifications in alignment with architecture principles.
Manage designs for new systems or improvements to existing systems, including the concept development through to completion
Work with the architecture team to develop general IT and architectural guidelines, standards, and policies to improve architectural governance
Peer review architecture documentation
Participate with the architecture team to collect information and develop key enterprise architecture artefacts.
Conduct research and determine best of breed technology for solution designs
Comply with architecture standards when planning technical work
Assist in gathering information for developing key architecture documents.

What you'll need to succeed
Have at least 5 years’ experience in the IT industry as a technical resource.
Ability to identify and document technical/functional requirements.
Ability to write solution and technical designs.
Experience in participating in or solely writing any technical system documentation including but not limited to:
-System diagrams
-As-Built system documentation
-High Level/Detailed design documents
-System/business processes
-Technical briefs
Solution/Design estimations and costing for designs/solutions.
Able to receive direction from the architecture team lead on priority work.
Able to work productively within a new and emerging architecture team to develop IT technical and non-technical guidelines, standards, enterprise documents etc.
Demonstrate excellent communications and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to colleagues and stakeholders
Capable of identifying technical and non-technical risks.
Demonstrated skills in time management, prioritisation, documentation and planning
Hold an AGSVA baseline security clearance or have the ability to obtain
